Helen B. Scott
August 11, 1920 to February 10, 2010





 

Torrington- Helen Bridget (Svobowitz) Scott, 89, died peacefully on February 10, 2010 in Greenwich, Connecticut.

Ms. Scott was born in Torrington on August 11, 1920, daughter of the late Paul and Rose Svobowitz and was a lifelong resident. She was co-owner for more than fifty years of Scott’s Manufacturing Co. in Torrington and was known for her strong work ethic and spirited approach to all of her endeavors. Ms. Scott was very active in her lifetime with her favorite hobbies of ballroom dancing, walking and golfing. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt who will be dearly missed.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Auletta and her husband Louis J., Sr., of Clinton and Sally Sisko and her husband Edward of Southington, seven grandchildren, Lori Auletta, Louis Auletta, Jr., Tara Spadola, Mark Auletta, Cheryl Sisko, Edward Sisko and Jeffrey Sisko, thirteen great-grandchildren, Chloe Auletta Gardner, Kathryn, Michael and Megan Auletta, Olivia and Matthew Spadola, Sarah, Benjamin, Addison and Andrew Auletta, Tyler, Jay and Ryan Sisko and many nieces and nephews. Ms. Scott was predeceased by her six siblings, Eleanor, Cecelia, Marcella, Winifred, Mary and Frank.

 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 15, 2010, at 9:30a.m. from The Gleeson Mortuary, 258 Prospect Street, Torrington, to St. Francis Church, 160 Main Street, Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30a.m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
