Morris- Sylvia Blanche Geshwind, 96, of Bantam Lake Heights, died Friday, January 22, 2010, at Litchfield Woods Nursing Facility. She was the wife of the late Nathan J. Geshwind.

Mrs. Geshwind was born in New York City, NY, on December 28, 1913, daughter of the late Louis and Fannie (Wiener) Sturtz and was a resident of Morris for the past thirty years. She was a Justice of Peace in Morris and was active in the local Democratic Party.

Survivors include a son, Lance M. Geshwind of New York City, NY, a daughter, Elaine S. Kraus of Torrington, two grandsons, Peter and James Kraus and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday January 25, 2010 at 3:00p.m. at The Gleeson Mortuary, 258 Prospect Street, Torrington, CT. Burial will be in Sons of Jacob Cemetery, Torrington, in the spring.
