Torrington- Thomas W. Smith, Jr., 68, of New Litchfield Street, died Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at his home. He was the husband of Bernadine “Bunny” (Stolicny) Smith. Mr. Smith was born in Torrington on April 21, 1941, son of the late Thomas W. and Pearl (Manor) Smith, Sr. and was a lifelong area resident. He was a retired employee of Stop & Shop Grocery Stores where he was employed for forty-six years. He was a member of the Winsted Lodge of Elks, a volunteer at Paradigm Health Care Center of Torrington and was a communicant of Sacred Heart and St. Francis Churches. He loved Antiquing, Wrestling, UCONN Basketball and Circle a Word Puzzles. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Jason Smith of New York City, NY, two daughters, Paula Smith of Brooklyn, NY and Michele Smith of Torrington, two grandchildren, Sarah and Adam Farage both of Brooklyn, NY and a brother, Bruce Smith of Granby. He was predeceased by a daughter, Sandra Ann Smith, a brother, Red Smith and a sister, Carol Abraham. |
