Torrington- David A. Allen, 70, of Torrington, died Friday, February 12, 2010 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the husband of Sheila (Connell) Allen. Mr. Allen was born in Littleton, NH on October 25, 1939, son of the late Reverend Arthur and Dorothy (Hatfield) Allen and was an area resident since 1952. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and made many friends in his career in retail sales and as a co-owner of All-Marc Heavy Duty Truck Parts in Torrington. Mr. Allen was an active member of Advent Christian Church and was a former member of the Torrington Lodge of Elks. Survivors, in addition to his wife, Sheila, include two daughters, Melissa Allen and her husband Jay Otto, of Madison, WI and Shannon E. Allen of Philadelphia, PA, one grandson, Benjamin Otto, of WI and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Allen was predeceased by two sisters, his twin Joann Reynolds and Noreen Jesseman. |
